Key Strength and Weakness
Key Strength
The author periodically publishes warnings about scams, issues with white labels, failed listings, and poor performance of certain projects. This makes the coverage less one-sided compared to some other channels in the airdrop niche, where almost every project is described exclusively in a positive light.
Key Weakness
The content relies heavily on referral-based monetization and often promotes projects based on the expectation of high profits rather than objective analysis.
Editorial review

Crypto Compass (@top_crypto_compass) is a channel dedicated to airdrops, testnets, IDOs, listings, and Web3 activities. The channel’s main content revolves around identifying potentially profitable crypto opportunities, publishing guides, and discussing new tokens. The channel actively uses referral links and regularly promotes third-party projects with an emphasis on potential profitability. The channel’s activity has noticeably declined since July 2025, and the author’s anonymity, the sharp growth in the audience, and mentions in anti-scam channels increase the overall risk level.

Content and Format

Crypto Compass publishes quick guides, reviews of new projects, crypto market news, and posts about token listings. The main focus is on airdrop events, testnets, NFTs, Telegram projects, and early Web3 services. The channel regularly features guides for Binance, MEXC, OKX, and other crypto platforms.

Several recurring themes can be identified in the content structure:

  • step-by-step instructions for participating in airdrops and testnets;

  • posts about token listings and potential returns;

  • brief market overviews and the author's emotional commentary;

  • promoting projects through referral links;

  • posts about Telegram NFTs, giveaways, and in-app activities.

Most of the articles are written in the simplest possible format. The author makes almost no use of technical analysis, fundamental project evaluation, or tokenomics analysis. Instead, the focus is on the speed of participation, profit potential, and growth expectations for individual tokens.

Many posts contain emotional phrases such as “huge potential,” “easily x10,” “powerful momentum,” or “the next big thing.” This style of presentation creates a buzz around the projects, although objective evidence of their potential is usually not provided.

The frequency of posts declined noticeably over time. While the channel posted content actively in 2024–2025, its activity later dropped to just a few posts per month. There were even periods with no posts at all, which doesn’t sit well with the topics of airdrops and testnets, where consistent audience engagement is crucial.

Monetization and Business Model

The primary monetization model is based on referral links and advertising integrations for crypto projects. Virtually every set of instructions includes invitations to sign up using a referral code or to click on an affiliate link.

Exchanges, launchpad platforms, Telegram apps, and new tokens in their early stages are being promoted particularly aggressively. Advertising posts often emphasize potential profits, a project’s low market cap, or “x100–x200 upside.”

Some promotional articles come across as too aggressive for a neutral review. For example, projects are compared to larger counterparts without a thorough analysis, and the likelihood of high returns is presented as an almost certain outcome.

The channel’s pinned post is also centered around an OKX affiliate promotion, in which users are encouraged to complete trading activities to earn a $12 bonus. This further demonstrates that referral-based monetization is one of the channel’s main goals.

Reputation, Risks, and Key Features

The channel's creator remains anonymous and shows no evidence of verified public activity outside of Telegram. In the comments section, there are replies from the admin in which the creator directly mentions a decline in interest in the crypto market and a temporary hiatus from activity.

The channel's subscriber growth looks suspicious. In the summer of 2024, the channel grew from approximately 23,000 to more than 100,000 subscribers in just two weeks, after which the audience gradually declined to its current levels without any attempts to regain momentum. This kind of growth does not look like organic growth.

Audience engagement remains low—less than 1%—which does not match the channel’s claimed size. Comments are open, but posts regularly attract comments from banned accounts, spam, and meaningless messages.

The channel has also changed its name several times and has posts that have been edited or deleted. In addition, Crypto Compass appears on Telegram channels that list questionable advertising platforms and fraudulent projects. While this is not direct proof of fraud, it significantly damages the channel’s reputation.

That said, the author has indeed published a large number of guides, kept up with new trends, and occasionally warns his audience about risks—such as Telegram NFT scams or password leaks.

Conclusion

Crypto Compass is a typical example of a Telegram channel in the airdrop niche, focusing on quick crypto opportunities, referral programs, and speculative projects. The channel can be useful for finding new testnets and early-stage Web3 projects, but the level of noise, emotional hype, and promotional content is very high here.

The author's anonymity, the unnatural growth of the audience, and the channel's inclusion in anti-scam compilations make it a questionable source of information in terms of long-term trust.
