X filed a lawsuit in the High Court of England and Wales against Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and unidentified social media account operators. The platform is seeking the return of £207,384, or about $277,000, which the defendants received through the Creator Revenue Sharing program, under which the platform pays creators for engagement on their posts.
According to X, six bitcoin-related accounts operated as a single network: Vivek4real_, Bitcoin_Teddy, saylordocs, TrendingBitcoin, Kalshibacktest, and PolyBackTest. These profiles posted identical or nearly identical content and liked and reposted each other’s posts. The clearest example cited in the lawsuit is dated August 5, when Vivek4real_ and TrendingBitcoin published nearly identical posts 11 seconds apart. The company linked the profiles through matching devices, software clients, cookies, and financial identifiers.
The accounts were suspended on August 18, and on September 7 X also shut down the payment program itself, beginning to roll out a replacement called Original Content Rewards. The company estimated the cost of investigating the scheme and addressing its consequences at a minimum of £75,000, bringing the claimed losses to more than £282,000. The allegations have not yet been considered by the court, and there has been no ruling on the merits.
