SlowMist researchers have linked the malicious iOS application FomoPeek to the theft of nearly $580,000 in USDT.

According to the company, versions 1.1 and 1.2 of FomoPeek exploited vulnerabilities in the iOS kernel that allowed the app to escape the standard sandbox. This gave it access to Keychain and files belonging to other applications on the device.

The investigation began following user complaints and was conducted together with the OKX security team.
